NOBS @ GITS

We played the GITs today at East York Collegiate. They won. Pack played awesome. Nice work from the backs to get the ball out. GITs speed prevailed. MoM was Tom G for us. Everyone was so happy to finally gat back on the pitch. Looking forward to the rematch in 2 weeks.

Cobourg Golden Rod

You could be sitting down watching the Leaders Debate, or you can look at some NOBS that led the charge at the Golden Rod Tourney this past Saturday.  Left to Right – Toddy, Matt, JP, Joe, Phil and Tim (also Gary, but he was not around for the picture) made the trip and were rewarded with 4 x 30 min games with the SOBs (Cobourg Saxons).  The competition included the GITS, Belleville Bulldogs, Lanark, and Cobourg.  We had to inform Cobourg our numbers were not 15, so it was turned into a round robin with us joining the Saxons, and lending help to other teams as needed.   SOBs + NOBs = SNOBS = Victory! Our band of merry men provided the right stuff at the right time complementing the strong play of the Saxons to win all four games!  In two games NOBS scored the winning tries – Phil against the GITS (14-12 win) by providing support on a great break by the scrum half, and Toddy against Belleville (12 – 5) by being in the right spot at the right time and taking a great pass from Belleville’s scrum half (oops) – this was the game and tournament winner!  We had strength to offer up front with Joe, Matt and Tim with our flanker JP in spanks roaming around the field looking to put in a tackle or two!

Thanks for a great day, great pemeal bacon on a bun and some tasty winning jars.  A well organized event, worth making the 1.5 hour trip!  Thanks to the SOBs for welcoming us to the fold for a great day!  The Eastern Ontario teams make for a great game….we need to make the effort in the future to make the trip if we want them to come to Burlington.
